The Range Is Back To Normal Hours

Post by Sir Henry » Mon Apr 18, 2016 9:41 am

An email sent to all member of my local range stated the range is back to normal hours. For the last nine months the range didn't open until 4 pm because of construction a mile down range. So now I can go shooting as early as 6 am. Woohoo!

Great. I'm sure we'll see many more reports now.

I'm hoping to make at least one range report a week now.

That's great news. I hope you get there even more often than that.

As a Henryholic fan, it would be entertaining and interesting to see a complete set of targets representing a full rotation of your Henry collection. You're a great shooter and the photos of your targets and rifles are among the best there are.

I'm thinking all .22WMR firearms tomorrow. I have a Winchester 9422 that I want to shoot head to head with a Henry. There will be five rifles (four plus a Mare's Leg) that I'll be taking. Two need to be sighted in and can take some time depending on how many people are at the range.

Hey, SH, think you can get to the range in the morning? :D

I'm just jealous. They are working on our range, making improvements and adding five more lanes, so that is good. The bad news is, for safety while the construction is goin on, it has been completely shut down since April 12th and isn't due to reopen until April 25th. And when it does reopen, I bet it will be crowded for the first week or two.

Here are the three firearms I'll be taking. The top one is a Henry Frontier Mare's Leg. It is in .22WMR as are the other two and it has an octagon barrel. The bottom two both have similar Weaver scopes. The Henry has the C6 and the Winchester has a Marksman 4XW which is really a C4 Wide.

I know, I should be pressure washing the deck and not shooting. 8-)

I was e-mailing with our local range guy and I'm going next weekend to pay my membership, and get a card. The range is about 15 min from my home so I can get there weeknights too. Looking forward to it.

Sir Henry, enjoy your shootin' day!
