I just sent an email to Jeff from Henry. I’ll update tomorrow after he responds. No fly zone, is your henry strictly for plinking or do you also hunt with it? Just asking because I see your avatar been from Arizona. Just wondering what you use it for here in Az. I plan to take mine on a hunt somewhere east of us. Don't know when or where yet.

I used to hunt here a little bit but haven't for years (other than dove/quail). So, I will just be plinking with mine.
I have considered putting in for a Javelina tag again one of these years. It will be interesting to see what Henry says about your pics

Mine is in .357 Magnum. Bought it about 2 months ago. The only issue is ejection of spent casings. But that seemed to disappear after 50-60 rounds. But the action is so smooth, and even the trigger feels good. I'm so happy because the buckhorn sights seem to work so well. I'm so happy. I hope any issues with your .45 LC get resolved.

Thanks, hopefully they’ll respond tomorrow or Wednesday. For some reason the brass that gets ejected comes out with a few scratches, they’re not too deep but deep enough to catch my nail in some spots. I may have to hit it with a stone or fine paper, but first I have to figure out where the sharp metal is.

Does anyone know how long is the turn around for Henry? The rifle got back to the factory for warranty work about two days ago. I’m assuming about two weeks but I figured I asked just to make sure and because I miss it

It should be inside of two weeks. You might want to start calling in a few days to check on their progress. They didn't notify me when it shipped and it requires a delivery signature when it arrives. Best to be prepared.

Henry WI received mine on the 5th of January, I received back on the 16th. However, I did get notification of the return trip.

I'm pretty confident that they'll correct that stock fit issue, it can't be to spec with the stock fit proud on the top and short on the bottom. My limited samples (2) have some of the best wood to metal fit I've seen on standard production rifles. I've heard that Henry Rice Lake is trying to expand their work force, and having some trouble finding the skilled people they need. Could be some new "employee break-in" issues, too. At least, the people up here know which end the bullets come out of, for the most part .

I’m sure it’ll get fixed. I saw a new big boy steel at a gun shop this past weekend and it had the same issue with the wood to metal fitting. I wonder what’s going on? Is this a new issue? I hope they correct it soon.

Well the rifle is on its way back from Henry. Good thing I called because they had already send it but didn’t let me know that it on its way. The rifle is stuck in Minnesota due to wether. I’ll report back when I get it. Hopefully it won’t take long.

Yeah I don’t hold it against them. They probably are very busy with all the rifles they sold as Christmas gifts. I’m sure out of all those there were a few that weren’t up to par. It happens with every company.

Got my henry back today. It was only gone for about two weeks so the turn around was really good. But aside from that, I must say that I’m a little disappointed. While they did fix the foregrip play, the rear stock fit is still not very good. Judge for yourselves on the pictures. The fit on the tangs is a little better but on the left side it looks worse than it used to.

Also the swivel stud is not indexed right. I fixed that by turning it back a little so I hope that it’s not too loose now. It reminds me of the remlin made in 2015 I used to have. The swivel stud looked the same on that one but at least the fit of the wood looked better than on the Henry. As far as the scratches on the brass goes, I posted a pic of a dummy round I cycled through, you can see a small scratch on the lead and the brass plus some streaks going up and down. I don’t know if that’s a big deal. I don’t want to send it back again so I think I’m going have to ignore the flaws and just shoot it. I heven’t shot it yet. We’ll see how that goes on Thursday.

From what I can see from these photos, I agree with you. I suggest calling HRA CS again, if for no other reason than to document your latest concerns, and then I'd send them these photos as evidence. Keep us posted.

There's no way I would accept the way that stock fits. It looks especially bad in photo with the trigger. Hopefully Mr. Imperato will be available to email soon, since they've already worked on the fit once I think I would like him to see that photo.

However I would have complained to CS about your rifle if it had been mine. Looks to me the replacement is worse than the original! That's what would really bother me! Am I seeing things, looks like the original was a big loop and the replacement is a regular loop lever?

Yes, I tend to agree with that we forget they mass produced. I would hope for the tolerance to be closer though. But not putting a Big Loop on a Big Loop gun, I guess someone must have been working overtime. Good catch. I guess that might support the notion of Henry may be stretched a little thin. But, the loop may be a easy replacement. Who knows, you may be sent a replacement stock that may fix fine also.
