Hello from Maryland
New member from the state of Maryland, long time shooter and owner of various Rugers, Marlins and some cool old H&R handguns but first time with a Henry. The truth is, the Henry I bought for my daughter as a congrats present for getting into grad school. She grew up shooting her uncle's Marlin 336 in .30-30, so we paid a visit to our local shop where Claire the Gun Girl took my daughter under her wing, told me to get lost for a bit, and a pretty little H001 was procured. We're enjoying loading it up with .22 shorts and shooting it in the backyard, trying to figure out some optics, peep sights or a red dot sight for it. I'm very impressed with it and seriously thinking of picking one up in .357 for me, so I'll be poking around in the archives for some tips. Thanks for letting me in!

welcome to our community, happy to have you on-board .... we have 3 Henry rifles and can say without any hesitation that should you purchase a 357, you will find it to be a fun gun to shoot ... please take a look at our How Many ? thread (link below) and add your Henry to our community's total

Re: Hello from Maryland
Other than a 22 I cant think of a better first lever gun than a 357. Either the steel or the brass model whichever trips your trigger the most. You cant go wrong with the 357. Welcome from Colorado. Al
