Ruger American Rifle......
One of the larger retailers has the Ruger American in .22lr for sale at 199.99 on 11/22. Normal retail is 309.99. This is the one with the synthetic stock.
Does anyone have one of these? I don't necessarily need one of these, but that sure seems like a good price. Just wondering if anyone can offer any information.

We've got a one in SS with a plastic stock - it's like most Rugers - nothing fancy, but it's a solid, well built 22LR bolt rifle. It's very accurate and it has an excellent trigger. It uses the same mags that our 10/22's use. Ruger also includes a cheek riser for a good cheek weld if using a scope (ours has a cheap Simmons rimfire scope that works well with this rifle). We like ours - would definitely buy it again - $200 is a good price for one of these....

I've heard nothing bad about them and $200 is a good price; just don't care for the stock..........................

I have one and it is a very good rifle for the price. The synthetic stock doesn’t bother me a bit. There are wood stocks available for them now but then you kick the price up another $100.
And as tractortad said, the trigger is very good.

Yep, got one right after they hit the market. I put a 4-10x32 scope on it and it is a very nice little shooter if you want a bolt action.

I purchased it. It was just too good of a price to pass up. Sale price, less $20 in discount coupons and less $15 in Cabela's bucks.....just too much to pass up. Unfortunately it was not in stock so I do not have it yet.

Re: Ruger American Rifle......
we have 4 Ruger M77's (2-308's & 2- 30-06's) .... as has been mentioned, nothing fancy but all have proven to be accurate, dependable rifles .... I really like the design of their safety on these rifles ...
