New BB in .44 mag.
On my first trip to the range with my new .44 carbine I had two loads. A factory Federal Premium 225gr Barnes Expander and my own handloaded Speer 270gr Deep Curl Bonded bullets over a full charge of Lil'Gun using Starline brass and CCI 350 primers. I had high hopes for the Barnes bullets, having used them with good success in other rifles. At 50 yards the Barnes bullets were all over the place. I don't know why these shot so bad. Maybe being copper, the 225gr. bullets are longer and the 1:38 twist can't stabilize them even at 50 yards? The 270gr. Speer bullets were very consistent and I had groups of about 2" using those. I want to try the 270gr. Speer bullets with H110 and play with the amount of powder using Lil'Gun, but they are already a deer worthy load.
