Just a quick lever wrap, maybe will do something fancier later, even found some trade beads from my old black powder/rendezvous days.

Two weeks ago, I got my first henry, 1st lever gun. So it's time to start making it my own by adding some custom touches. The lever wrap is on my list. I did not realize how fun and different a lever gun is. I think I see more in my future

Just made one with paracord. Guy on the range turn me on to it. Cheap and alot of pretty colors. Can get it at any craft store.

Good work dave77. A CAS told me that lever wrap would prevent your hand from slipping in the lever. Has anyone noticed a difference using lever wrap and is there any other advantage to wrapping the lever?

I didn't really notice my hand slipping, I put the wrap on mostly for looks but it does cushion the back of your fingers which is nice if you're shooting lots of rounds.

I had a lever wrap on my rifle for awhile; it was ok, but I just find it easier to get my hand in & out without it. Just preference.

Some of the commercial ones I've seen made of harder leather look kind of thick but mine is soft leather stretched very tight so it doesn't take up much room. Might be an issue if wearing gloves .

Re-wrapped my lever. Not a big change, some thicker leather, different color laces and picked up some different beads. Spent a little more time measuring and cutting the leather.



Tried putting on my "lucky cat whiskers" that I've found over the years but I think it's probably too much.

impressive .... does the thickness of the wrap noticeably reduce the size inside the lever

Maybe a little but it's not that thick, a little over a 1/16" and it's stretched pretty tight. Sure is easier on your fingers if you're doing a lot of shooting.

I like the personalization and beads on your wrap. Here's what I did with my two, kept it simple for now. Always time to go back later and re-do them with something a little more 'fancy' if I decide to.
