Good Morning
Hi Folks, I'm from the Kansas City area, although I'm not new to shooting I am new to Henry Rifles. I purchased my first ones a little over 5 years ago. You see I have 3 grandsons, so when I found out the youngest (now 5 years old) was going to be a boy too I went out and bought 3 Henry 22LR Youth model and 1 Golden Boy (for me), plus 4000 rounds of ammo. My plan was to put them in the safe until the oldest turned 9 or 10 then have a shooting section, giving them their OWN 22 rifles with ammo. Of course their dads would be apart of the whole thing. Well I was taking the two older boys (now 7 years old) out shooting and training one day and stopped to buy some bullets. Of course we had to look at some of the new guns the store had to offer. Then I saw it, a shinny new 44mag Big Boy. The boys seemed to think I needed it (at least that's what their grandma was told) so here I am. I hope I can glean much information from you guys as well as offer some of my own.
Thanks for having me,
Randy

Re: Good Morning
delighted to have you join us .... I admire the way you plan to introduce your grandsons to shooting .... I'm following much the same path with our 9 year old grandson .... Missouri has some really nice shooting parks, we make it a point to spend a day at Jay Henges near St Louis when we are in that area .... I believe you will really enjoy your 44, ours has quickly become one of my favorite rifles .... please take a look at our How Many ? thread and add your Henry collection to our community's total (link below)

Welcome to the forum from VA...
You might be surprised if you take your Kids along.
I have taught shooting for a LONG time and non-shooters who take a firearms class for whatever reason...
usually because they are afraid of the way the world has turned out, or with a loved one...
Often discover two things.
Guns aren't evil... and shooting is loads of fun.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.
