Trick or Treat
Anyone feel like posting pictures of your trick or treaters along with a nose count? I'll be doing it later today. I'm also going trick or treating in the neighborhood of select houses. If I'm brave enough I'll post a picture of me.

Re: Trick or Treat
We never get them, here, nor would I want the little ones to venture down our 100 yard long and dark driveway snaking through the woods. Do miss seeing them, however.

Re: Trick or Treat
I live in a neighborhood of about fifty homes on 1/2 acre lots. There's only one way in and the streets of the subdivision are shaped like the letter B. I've lived here for thirty one years and each Halloween, more than one hundred kids, adolescents, and parents with newborn babies -- most of whom don't live here --come begging for candy. The parade of SUVs is steady as groups of them come from miles around to walk the otherwise quiet streets in search of goodies. Every year, we played along. Not this year.
My wife of forty four years passed away on July 24th and I'm still deep in mourning. Not three weeks has passed since I had hip replacement surgery. I did buy candy to hand out just like every year past; but tonight, at the last minute, I caved. I just didn't want to deal with the nonsense.
My house is dark. Halloween is well under way. Hoards of trick or treaters are roaming past my darkened house as I write this note. I really don't care. It's an unholy night. Boo Humbug!

Re: Trick or Treat
When I got home from work, my fiance said she had six so far. An hour later, that's still the tally. There used to be hoards of kids and adults, coming in vans, to this neighborhood. I drove through the city and out into suburbia and saw no one trick or treating at the prime time. I think it's a weird new custom. No one trusts anyone.
I'm with you CT_Shooter. If they come, they get candy. If not, that's ok too. More relaxation time for me.

Looks like you have some candy to eat, better get started! It's a tough job but somebody has to do it.CT_Shooter wrote:I live in a neighborhood of about fifty homes on 1/2 acre lots. Im looking forward to pictures... I love pictures.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Re: Trick or Treat
My count was 61 when I ran out of candy and turned out the lights. Then as I walked up to the neighbors house for an adult Halloween party I saw another big group of 20 heading towards my house. It would have been the biggest year ever here.

Re: Trick or Treat
As our night went along, no one else came. Six. Ten years or so ago, it was in the hundreds.

Re: Trick or Treat
Same count as every year... zero. Farm country. More cows and sheep than kids.
On a bright note... Miss Ts plane landed safely and 22 minutes ahead of schedule.
The airport, however, is 75 - 90 minutes away... with light traffic.

In an age where kids are taught to trust no one and run down the street if a stranger says hello, I'm not sure this is a holiday for the ages.

That's a great little puppy, Al. I'm guessing it didn't take long to decide that it would come home with you!

Re: Trick or Treat
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. They are my favorite dog. Great pets and there just so adaptable to your life style. Had one that I lost last year best dog I ever had but she loved to play ball. This one came from a breeder that we got another one from and was actually there with the breeder for 18 weeks. She has a slight overbite and I kept looking at her online. I told my wife and the rest is history my wife said I'm going to go get her. Al

Looks like he's kinda got a mask.
Cool little Halloween pup.
My daughters dog had pups this past Sat. 11
Sorry no good with pics on this site.
Don't know how to get 'em from phone to here.
Oh, no T or T's here, out in the sticks.
We took the grandsons into town.

Most came in groups of a dozen. In the background was two or three parents and I might know the name of one in each group.Henry88 wrote:In an age where kids are taught to trust no one and run down the street if a stranger says hello, I'm not sure this is a holiday for the ages.
