Good for a laugh.... "Cool"

Post by BrokenolMarine » Fri Oct 20, 2017 9:25 pm

I saw this video this evening...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOr1fIIHQFk

and it made me laugh out loud. :P
Lately, I have been feeling just a little down... due to my accident, and the limited activities of late. ;)
But, watching this video of Cool Parents... I realized... I graduated in the mid 70s, and spent the 70s, and 80s in the Corps. I have been places, seen things, and DONE things that most only dream of.. Thanks to the Corps. I may be a Broken Ol' Marine these days... but I WAS cool. :D

Funny thing is... I know that many of the friends I have on the few forums I belong to, belong in that class as well. I have seen the pictures. :)
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

I once posted a picture of myself in issued military swim trunks from the 80s. They were a perk for those who were in assignments that required it. (SEALs, Recon, SpecOps, Air Crews...) I took a lot of crap in the comments field about my hot pants. :o Those shorts in those days WERE extremely short... and the socks were long and striped. :D

These days... the shorts... almost aren't... short... and socks almost aren't... there. 8-)

It was a long time before my three girls ragged me into wearing plain white ankle length socks with sneakers rather than the calf high basketball socks, with the stripes... pulled up tight. :? :D

"You wear those with boots old man... covered with long pants so noone can see them... sheesh."

Yeah, I went through that sock evolution too. Daughters can be so demeaning...in a loving way of course.
