From immense hurricanes to overwhelming fires...many folk have had a devastating time of it this year.
One photo from fires in Santa Cruze, CA
This picture reveals the harshness and devastation of the CA wildfires. As part of a slide series, which was called "apocalyptic images," this post-fire photo was difficult to view (from my perspective). No words, but the woman's expression as she faces what the fire has done to home says volumes.
The "good news" for one couple.
Although I didn't find this article on my "Good News" app, it was definitely good and welcome news of survival.
"It was about 55 degrees. They were wet, cold and barefoot. But they were alive."

I'm keeping on in prayer that survivors, and families impacted, may be able to soon rebuild their lives as well as another home.

Re: Extremely hard to imagine...
In two long careers, plus volunteer work, l have often seen the after effects if devastation on the victims. I have often been amazed at the strength shown by many, especially those of faith.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Unfortunately California has these "instant" disasters that give you little or no time to prepare; such a beautiful place otherwise.
Can any of us imagine having minutes to decide what will fit in our car?
At least hurricanes give you a little time to think...................

I gotta agree with that. Outside of the big disasters I know quite a few who have suffered personal crises this year. I doubt I'll look back on '17 with fondness!Vaquero wrote:Been a tough year, that's fer sure.
