New member from Iowa

Finally got on here, tried a while back and somehow things got messed up. Bought my second Henry a few months ago. the first one was a .22 that I bought my youngest son when he turned 7. So that one is almost 20 years old now! Bought a .44 mag BBB rifle in May after Iowa passed that we could use straight wall cartridges for deer. And it uses the same ammo as the pistol I carry. Know a lot of people are going to scratch their heads as why I got the brass for hunting.

I've hunted deer with conventional muzzle loaders off and on for the last 35 years, and prefer the extra weight of the octagon barrel. And, I'm a sucker for bright items, don't see the brass being much of a deficit for deer hunting anyway. Just hoping the brass hold up better than the Uberti brass frame rifles. Have seen them shot out in only one year.

Dont blame you a bit for buying the brass. I like it to and would have done the same. Welcome from Colorado. Good luck on the hunt. Al

Welcome from the Shenandoah Valley, VA. If the deer can't see orange, they probably can't see brass, either...

Thanks for all the welcomes.

Some of you will find out through my posts I am a shooter and hunter, not a collector. I hate when I get a scratch or ding in a new gun but, later I have a tendency while cleaning the gun to think back on a hunt or a day at the range when I come across the scratch again. I have no guns that can be described as NIB condition since I do use them.
