Lever replacement on Hoo9b
I just bought my first Henry, the H009B and I have an easy question. I want to replace the lever for the large loop handle and I wanted to make sure on how to remove and install the lever plunger on the new lever. From what I can tell from the parts breakdown is when I knock out the retaining pin the lever plunger will come out with the spring. Then to put it in the new lever is where I had the question, does the spring fit on the lever plunger and the lever plunger has a hole in it so when I insert the lever plunger & spring into the new lever then the pin fits in and holds everything, is that the way it goes together??
Thanks!

It sounds to me like you are making it too complicated. My HO12 steel carbine does not have any spring involved with lever replacement. You simply open the lever halfway, remove the screw, pull the lever out. Insert the new lever, replace the screw. That's it.
Good luck, Jim

EasyPeasy. I did the same lever change.
Open the action about 1/2 way. Remove the retainer bolt. No spring will be released. Slide new lever in place and reinstall the bolt.
That's about it.
The ejector spring will come out if you remove the bolt for cleaning. But the lever has no lose spring.

Hey Toolfreak -
You have that right about the lever plunger, but I'm pretty sure that when you order a new large loop lever, it will also come with a new lever plunger installed (the three I ordered did, anyway) - so all you need to do is open the lever half way, remove the lever screw, put in the new lever, and re-install the screw. Should be pretty easy to do for a guy with the word tool in his screen-name....

I thought I had to replace it when I got the new lever, if it comes with it already then it will be an easy swap, thanks to all that replied!!!!

Welcome to the forum!
Just make sure you choose the right size screwdriver to fit the slot in the screw (don't ask me how I know this).
