H009 in 30-30

I always hear how they look but can they shoot? I was wondering what kind of accuracy everyone was getting at 50 yards and 100 yards open sight and scoped? I would be primary interested in factory ammo, and then hand loads. I don't hand load, but just wondering.

I have the "gen 2" model, with the XS ghost ring sights.* I have never shot groups with it, but just from shooting at steel at 100 yards, I can tell you mine seems to be an excellent shooter.

*Gen 1 was a heavier version, with a barrel band instead of the current fore end end cap. Semi-buckhorn rear sight

Gen 2 is the current lighter fore end cap version, but with the ghost ring sights

Gen 3 redesigned the magazine tube hanger and brought back the semi-buckhorn rear sight

I had the H009 about three years ago. Fine rifle and very accurate with the Leverevolution ammo. Got a deer at 150 yds the first time out hunting with it. Ended up selling it, only because I found a Ruger No 1 in 308. Can't say I don't like Henry's. I have the H001, a pump, an SGC in 22 mag and a BBS carbine in 357.

As for accuracy, which was your question........ Never shot it with open sights. My eyes are not that good with the buckhorn rear. But, with a Weaver 1.5-3 power on it, and Leverevolution, could shoot 1 MOA from a lead sled.

I have the H009B and it shoots excellent. I am no marksman, but I can group 3" at 100 yards with the stock sites and resting on a sand bag.

3" group at 100 yds with iron sights means you probably are a marksman - good shooting and welcome to the forum.
