New member from NYS
Just thought I would introduce myself. I live in central NY and have been involved in muzzleloader shooting for over 40 years, mostly flintlock longrifles. I just bought a new Big Boy 44mag Henry and am looking forward to getting out and shooting it. I would have loved to get the original henry but wouldn't you know it, not legal here in NYS. I look forward to all you have to offer. I haven't shoot a modern rifle in over 40 years.

Howdy from Nebraska! Have fun with that new fangled rifle.
Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

Welcome to forum from the Shenandoah Valley. Hard to fathom that a remake of a 150 yr old rifle design is banned in the state of New York.....

It's because it holds 13 rounds. Our infamous safe act calls that an assault rifle. I did a lot of checking and could have driven into Pa. and bought one but if I took it hunting and a game warden saw me with it I would get ticked for it and loose the rifle. I just thought to play it safe for now. I may some day still get the 1860 model.tractortad wrote:Welcome to forum from the Shenandoah Valley. That is unfortunate. After Newtown, CT restricted a magazine of more than 10 rounds, but it doesn't apply to lever action rifles.mlrifleNY wrote: ...It's because it holds 13 rounds. Our infamous safe act calls that an assault rifle.

Hi Jim Welcome from another muzzleloader lover. I still love shooting muzzies alot but leverguns are also a great love. Im still playing with the flinters but I love both cap and flint. I have a couple of GRRW Hawkens one in 50 and one in 58 caliber. 58 is my favorite cal. Hawkens are also a love of mine. Al
