Reloading in the field

Post by ssonb » Tue Aug 29, 2017 10:42 am

 OK not the rifle magazine but the cartridge... I use a Lee Hand Press and to date have only loaded the 44mag/spl and 45/70 in the field. I use the tailgate of my truck as a work bench. Have any others experimented with this?

we bought a Lee Hand Press back in the mid '60's .... all together, have used it less than 10 times .... it works well for straight wall carbide die 357 & 44 mag casings .... it does work on cases that need to be lubed but doing so requires much more effort .... for me it is a nice to have in reserve type of tool

Have you ever watched logcabinlooms on YouTube? He uses a lee loader in the field a good bit. I really enjoy his channel.

I see the benchrest people reloading on the fly all the time . Using powered powder scales and arbor presses with prepped brass.
The black powder cartridge folk use the Lee loader. For decapping cartridges before going into soak in the suds.
