Cheers!

Post by Shakey Jake » Wed Aug 16, 2017 8:16 pm

I'm (almost) a first time Henry owner. I'll be receiving my Big Boy Steel in .327 Federal Mag on Monday. I have a Ruger .327 and really love shooting it and was looking for a rifle in that caliber. I've been waiting for a few months for Henry to ship and I'm really excited about receiving it Monday. Any scope suggestions welcome. I'm looking at the Leupold VX III 2.5-8x36mm; Nikon MONARCH 3 BDC, Black, 2-8x32; and the Weaver V-7 2-7X32 (High to Low price wise). Hope to get a lot of information from the forum on maintenance and other accessories.

Smart to get in the same caliber as your pistol.

Let's see a range report.........

Thanks! I'm an avid reloader and started reloading because of the .327 Federal magnum. It's hard to find ammo for it locally. I also reload for .38, .357 mag, .357 Sig, .40S&W, and .45 ACP. I do own some rifles: Ruger No. 1 in 25.06/ Ruger 10.22/ Marlin .22 WMR. My pistols are P229 in .40/9mm/.357 Sig; P224 in .40; P220 (.45 ACP)/ 340 CT S&W .357 mag/ and Ruger LCR in .327 Federal mag. I retired from teaching (32 yrs) and now have a home based business. I'm looking forward to the Henry.

Thanks for the advice. I just ordered a Burris Fullfield E1 2-7x35 from Sport Optics on sale for $169.19. The "Big A" price was $208. I went to my local store (Carter's Country) down the road from me and they didn't have anything in 2-7. I thought that was a bit odd for a Houston chain store. Anyway, I'll get it mounted/sighted when it comes in and give you a report. :D
