Toast, was the love of our life, and about a year and a half
Ago we had to put her down. She was 9 years old.
Toast loved Turkey feathers, if she found one outside, or my wife gave her one, from a Bird she shot, in the spring Turkey season, that dog was as happy as could be. She would play with that feather, toss it up in the air, then pounce on it. So a wile back, I remembered seeing some
Wildlife Art, done on Turkey feathers, and started searching for an Artist, that did this, and I found Melissa Ball in pa. I asked her if she wanted to try and do Toast,
And asked her if she could put a tail feather in her mouth.
She said, she could do it ,no problem.
I just got toast's portrait last week.

Through my neighbors of the last five years, I again realized earlier this year how significant a dog is to family life. The couple next door to me did not have any children, but they had a really wonderfully-friendly dachshund named Oscar. (Oscar was a twin to my own Pepper I had when a child). Anyway, I'd meet & greet Oscar many mornings as they took him for his top-of-the-day walk. He was fun to pet and chat with.

Well, they recently had to let Oscar go. I noticed his absence, and when I inquired of either the man or woman, they both stood in the apartment breezeway.....crying. They were devastated at his loss, as Oscar had been with them for over 14 years.

The surprise was that shortly after Oscar was gone, my neighbors moved out. They said they could not remain in their apartment any longer since it was so filled with their last good memories of Oscar. Truly a family love story. I was sorry to see them leave, but there it is.

I am truly sorry for your loss. We had Skinny, my Wife's Sable Shepherd. She wasn't only Tina's service dog, but her best friend when I wasn't around.
She developed a spinal problem when she was about twelve, and we had to put her down. We didn't try and prolong HER life to ease our's. We put her down after a discussion with the vet and there was no hope and her pain would only get worse. It's been ten years. I still miss her.

Toast was my wife's fishing buddy all summer long up to camp. Toast loved the summer heat, she would sprawl
Out on the rear deck of the boat, wile my wife fished up front. One day my wife launched the boat, tied it off to the dock, then pulled the truck up to the parking lot and parked. She let toast out of the truck, and she took off running for the boat and would jump up in the drivers seat and wait for my wife.
This time there was another boat there, and the guy was walking back to his boat, like my wife, only toast jumped up in his boat and in his seat, the guy asked toast if she wanted to go fishing with him today, he would be happy to have her.
My wife told toast your in the wrong boat, they laughed

I totally agree with what has already been expressed. I recently lost the best dog I have ever had. When you lose one you have become so attached to you look for ways to remember them in there honor. Al
