I have been loading my .357 to the standard 1.59" on the BBB, just wondered what others were doing? For .223 I am seating bullets longer than std COL to be closer to the Lands, is this something you folks do with .357? Or do you all stick to the Saami spec?

I stick to SAAMi specs. Has worked fine for me. Use MBC 158grain round nose flat point. I was using HS6 but loaded Titegroup with same bullet and took to the range today. Very impressed with Titegroup. The powder goes a long way.

By the way Larry, what loads were you using, i have only used Unique so far and not sure how much the powder can affect grouping and accuracy too,

Hi JE bar, did it . I ran some more loads through last night at 25 yds indoors, had first group three touching which was best yet but they were six inches off centre. At fifty yads they didnt even hit the paper. Adjusted my rear sight until it was nearly one eight of an inch off centerr to get anything like centre at 25 yds so the battle continues. Should have ascope on tomorrow night and will see what happens, at least if I know a given load is good then I will see what happens using the irons again but if it is still that far to the right it goes back to Henry!! funny thing is I still love the rifle but just want it to be right.

With revolver calibers, I normally get bullets with a canelure and seat them to the canelure, and forget about COL.

that is exactly what I do and I include 45-70 and 30 caliber bullets designed for use in a 30-30 .... in another thread I posted the picture below .... it shows the crimp ring on a 300, 400, and 500 grain bullet is in the same location so as to produce a standard length

I am using 4.5grains of Titegroup with a 158grain RNFP for 357mag loads. Has proven to be quite accurate for me.
