I like Kasey Kahne, but was puzzled why Hendrick wanted him so bad back then. I've seen him get rid of other drivers much quicker in the past years. Kasey being the real nice guy that he is, is most likely helping him to stay on.

In my opinion, his biggest mistake was getting rid of Kyle Busch. I think about that every once in a while when Kyle keeps on winning like he does.

"NASCAR has notified teams that they could lose tires for a race as a penalty for further inspection issues.

Teams start races on the tires they used in qualifying except in the Daytona 500. If teams don't make a qualifying attempt because they couldn't get through inspection in time, they start on new tires. That can be an advantage compared to cars that qualified and ran a handful of laps on their tires."

Wow! Dale Jr. blowing his engine up by shifting into second more than once. His interview spoke volumes. I think he might be retiring early. He may still be suffering from that last concussion.

Loved seeing the 21 car in victory lane. Ryan Blaney just out drove one of the best in Kevin Harvick. I may just drop into visit the Wood Brothers shop in town. They are just two miles from my driveway.

talk about precision, on NASCAR's website they list the green flag will drop at 3:16:30 p.m. Eastern time for today's race at Michigan .... they are also showing a 60% chance of rain, hope they are wrong on that one

Larson did it again, on the pole for tomorrow's race at Sonoma .... I'm not a fan of road course racing but am delighted to see my girl, Danica, will be starting 6th .... that will be her highest starting position this year .... she's the top Coke Driver, top Ford driver, top Stewart Haass driver .... I hope she can run a smooth race, one without some other driver wrecking her .... we will probably not get to see the race, we will be traveling home on our last day's drive returning from south Dakota

I watched video of Junior losing control and hitting Danica's car .... later when her car came in contact with Stenhouse, his car sure got the worst of it .... for her to finish 17th after all that, she must have done well .... looks like the 18 will be without another crew chief, loose lug nuts in post race inspection

I've seen recent reports that Jr says he is retiring from full-time racing but will not rule out future runs at selected tracks .... like Daytona ???

Jr is on the pole for tonight's Coke Zero 400 at Daytona, coverage starts at 7PM Eastern on NBC .... with his history at Daytona, he has to be the favorite .... my girl starts 10th, the second highest starting position for AHR drivers .... she's really been doing well for the last few races

I heard the same thing. Kind of like what Michael Waltrip used to do.

oh well, lap 55 and Jr is still on the track but a blown tire has pretty well ended his chances of winning
