Alta Mountain

Post by Sir Henry » Wed Jun 21, 2017 5:52 pm

I'm going to attempt Alta Mountain tomorrow with my neighbor. This will be a crampon/ice ax climb but no ropes. I suspect we might not get much above 4,000 feet but that doesn't matter. We are getting tired of Mt. Si. I climbed Alta twice last year but it was in August and September when it didn't have any snow on it.

Alta itself isn't very difficult but the trail in is brutal.

Love it, Gene. That is some spectacular country to these flatlander eyes. I also understand the lure of the challenge. Go for it.

I hope you have a good climb. Be careful on the ice.

The place looks beautiful.
