Very poor accuracy in BBS 357

I've had a BBS 357 for about a month and a half now. Pretty much shoot it every day....once you find the load it likes, its a tack driver...maybe you should let someone else give it a try...it may not be the rifle...just sayin'... BobGinVA

I tried quite a few different loads as evidenced by my original post and was getting very erratic patterns which could not even be considered groups. I used my other Henry 357, a BBB, as a comparison and even with iron sights was getting consistent groups less than 1/2 the size of the patterns produced with the BBS with a 7X scope.
My buddy, who is a long range competition shooter, was on the bench next to me and got the same results shooting my BBS.
Perhaps more telling is the fact that even with factory ammo the BBS was getting velocity fluctuations in excess of 100 fps, while the same ammo fired thru my BBB was see fluctuations of less than 30 fps.

I have been following this thread, I don't own a Big Boy. And really don't have a dog in this hunt. My thoughts on this is that there is a problem with the barrel. Possibly chamber or headspace issues.
It sucks to bring home a beauty like a Henry and have an issue like this. But I have no doubt that Henry will make it right. Even if they have to send you a new rifle to replace it.
We have a few members who had issues with a rifle and it had to be repaired or replaced. The early 45-70s were troublesome. But every one of them were taken care of by Henry.
I hope you get that beauty back and it turns out to be better than you ever hoped for.
Either way if it comes back and you still have problems with it contact Anthony Imperato directly and he will make it right.

throw Memorial Day holiday(s) into that week and I can see how it might take a bit longer .... I've sent a firearm back to a different manufacture and it took much longer to get it back than any times I've seen posted about Henry

I had a Remington that was under a recall and it took them 1 1/2 months to send it back.
At least I have another Henry 357 to shoot in the meantime.

Mine came back today. They had it since May 17th. That's a decent turn around factoring in the holiday.

I've followed that thread and am glad to hear that you have your Henry back, further that it appears to be good to go .... what I'm looking forward to is hearing your future reports as you get the sights adjusted and are able to spend more time on the range

I was finally able to get an update from Henry since they have had my rifle for almost 2 weeks.
It had a bad barrel but unfortunately their tooling they use to make those barrels was bad and had to be replaced. Supposedly they just received the new tooling so they can make me a new barrel and it should be ready to send back next week.
I hope that they discovered the bad tooling BEFORE they sent out a lot of guns with bad barrels.

Contacted Henry and they shipped my rifle back, supposed to be here June 16. Said they replaced barrel, adjusted lockup and adjusted trigger pull from 6lbs to just over 4lbs.
I'll take it to the range as soon as I can and post a report.

not surprised at the support you have received from Henry .... this is the first time I recall hearing confirmation that a Henry trigger can be adjusted

Our range gunsmith told me he has worked on a number of Henry rifle triggers and can get them down to about 4lbs. I was considering having him do it but since it went back to Henry for a bad barrel I thought I'd try to get them to do it.

Problem is that they LIED!
I had a small scratch on the barrel by the "A" in USA and the scratch is STILL there. I took a picture of the scratch on the barrel before I sent it and the same scratch is still there!
