Williams Peep sights?
Anyone tried Williams peeps that fit Marlin 336 on the Big Boys or the steel versions of the big boys? I have a 30-30 steel and have always liked the Williams for adjustability. Williams don't know if they work or not. I've called them for 3 years now asking and I guess they don't care about the Henry's I guess. They always say it's in the works. I've ask for 3 years if they would just test fit and I have no explanation why they won't. Look at the market share they leave out. Oh well!

Lee1963 -- Welcome to the Henry Forum from the Show-Me-State!
Yup, 'tis most sad how many businesses out there want to sell their products, but don't respond to their customers' inquiries. Several years ago I "battled" the no-response response from Benelli. Just wanted to ask about one of their accessories. No answer, so I went elsewhere to get what I needed. Because Henry RAC always helps us (the consumer), I'm for sure sticking with them. Their CS is off the charts.
I hope another Forum member can respond and provide an answer to your Q. BTW, nice Henry choice in that .30-30 steel.

Re: Williams Peep sights?
I tried one on my BBS and it overhung the back of the receiver about half an inch. The hole spacing on the sight is 1/2" so I took the gun to a gunsmith to get a third hole drilled so I can move the sight forward by that amount.
The Henry 30-30 has a longer receiver so it might just work using the factory scope base holes.

Hi Lee .... welcome to the Forum from Runcorn, UK!
I'm guessing the only way to really find out is to buy one and see how it performs.

Re: Williams Peep sights?
That's what I just did Les. If it does overhang the receiver too much I'll just d-t another hole .5" further forward. This sort of work is not foreign to me so it's no big deal.

The Williams 336 FPTK is a few .001s of an inch to tight to fit on a Henry Big Boy. You can force it on but it'll be catywompus.
I didn't let that stop me I took a file to the inside of the hanging piece until there was enough cleaence.
Just got back from the range and it works great. Up down left and right. Repeatable enough for silhouettes. There is the issue of overhang of the hammer but keeping that in mind the sight works.
It is my understanding the Williams 336 will fitt the steel modle Center fire Henry with an overhang.

Re: Williams Peep sights?
The brass Big Boys must be wider than the BBS models. I didn't have that problem on mine.
Re: Williams Peep sights?
Thanks for the picture. Yes, the brass models are slightly thicker than the steel models.

Re: Williams Peep sights?
I had a Weaver Marlin base on by BBS in 357. Could probably have gotten some see thru rings and used the stock sights, but wanted a peep because of my eyes. So, I saw the Williams Ace in the Hole for the Marlin and ordered one. It is a Picatinny rail with the Williams peep on the rear, which gives a lot of options. The two rear holes match. Like the Weaver, the hole for the front is slightly off. The shoulders on the screws are barely a bump. They worked fine on the rear, but in filing the front hole, I was afraid too much material would be removed. So, I filed the hole in the rail to where it was lined up with the hole in the BBS. Then drilled the mount so I could use the longer screw from the Weaver mount as it had a larger head. Just had to make sure I didn't drill too deep extend into the workings. The Ace in the Hole is also quite long and hung off the front of the receiver way too far. So, I cut it off even with the end of the receiver. The A in TH is thinner than the Weaver, but I know I'll need a taller front sight. Ordered one from Skinner, so once that is here and I have the opportunity to get it sighted in I'll try to post some photos.
Right now I have a Weaver 1.5-3 on it, but it just doesn't look right. I may switch my 2-7 x 33 VX-1 over to use those times I need to see further.
Once the front sight is changed, I'll have the option of using the peep, the scope or can mount a red dot.
