Nascar Pole Winner

Post by Cowboy Gun Fan » Sat Apr 09, 2016 8:14 pm

I'm watching the pre-race show at Texas and I just saw a clip of Carl Edwards who won the pole yesterday.

Was that a Henry Golden Boy I saw him holding?

No, but in the meantime, the pre-race show is great.

Did you just catch the short story on Smokey Yunick?

we lived in Charlotte during that era .... I remember several of us hanging out at Holman and Moody on Sundays .... back then races weren't on TV like they are now ... they had some sort of radio system where the guys at the shop could listen to the races ... great bunch of guys, they were very patient with a group of teenage boys

Sounds like some great days you had back then.

The pre-race show is still real good.

Had a short story on Mario Andretti and just finished one on one of my favorite all time drivers, Sterling Marlin. Along with some great coverage of his Dad, Coo Coo.

Congrats to Kyle Busch (but I don't believe he is your driver, lol).

Looks like JGR and Kyle Bush picked right up where they left off last season.
I am a Stewart Hass fan, so always pulling for Danica, Harvick, and now Vickers. Not so much for Kurt Bush. He is a heck of a driver but showed his ___ too much early in his career.

understood .... my wife taught chemistry/physics and one of her former students is an engineer on Danica's team .... a few months ago he took us on a tour of Stewart - Haas .... it is a remarkable facility, not a drop of grease anywhere .. :D

I've never cared for Kyle but must admit his wife Samantha made him grow up.

Yes between her and that accident at the first of last year, he's done a lot of growin up.
I think he is one very good driver, and can handle those cars pretty well.
Sweeping two weekends in a row, hasn't been done since '91.
I hope he makes it three, lol.
Go Rowdy! !

I agree. Although young and brash in his early days, I learned to have faith in Kyle not only as a driver, but as a person. I just somehow found myself rooting for him many years ago.

Although he drives the wrong brand of car, lol. (I'm a Chevy fan)

How many saw the clip of him driving home in traffic after the Martinsville race last week? Pretty cool moment. If I can find the clip, I'll post it.

No I haven't seen it. Really haven't kept up with the racing this year.
Would like to see him win the championship again this year.
