35 Remington

I don't see it as a Long Ranger, as 35 Remington is not a long range cartridge. Factory 35 ammo is loaded only with roundnose bullets for use in lever guns with tube magazines.

If Henry does ever make a 35, presumably it would be along the lines of either the current 30-30 or 45-70 models.

that would be my guess as well .... the rotary bolt of a Long Ranger would maximize the the power of the cartridge .... I'd love to see just how it would perform

There is probably more 35's in Pa. than any other state in the country especially in the Remington pumps. Plenty of Remington Model 14 and 141's in 35 along with the 760 Rems. The 35 with the heavier bullet really seems to be preferred over the 30-30 for the deer hunter who also goes after bear in the fall. Remington pumps still are a popular deer and bear hunting rifle even though the bolt action rifles have taken a bite out of their popularity. The lever and the pump 35's is all the power and range needed in the timber here in my part of Pa. I used to be a belted magnum fan but now I don't even own one and the standard cartridges do just fine.

I happen to own and like the 35 Rem. It is a little bit of a niche thing, but I think it would too easy to produce for Henry to pass up. A lot of 20 in. barrel 35 owners would go for a selection that included the 18 1/2in, and 24in. barrels. I also think the 358, 375 Win, 38-55, and the 444 could be viable for Henry once Rifle demand slacks off enough to work them in the schedule, thus holding their sales up. The 375 Win and 38-55 could actually be one rifle if done right.

That's a chambering I'd like to see, too, especially in the single shot. If it had been available in the initial release, I'd still be flipping a coin to decide between the .35 Rem and 45-70 .

Not really a collector, hunter, or someone who frequents the range often, so I have 3 calibers; small (22LR), medium (22WMR), and large (.308).

So far every situation has fallen into one of those 3 calibers

I would like to get a .223/5.56 someday, though................

Thank you, it made for a good read. I have a .35 in a Marlin. I would love for Henry to put one out like the 336A with a 22-24" barrel. I would be standing in line waiting for the gun store to open!
