Making some headway now

Post by bandit1250 » Sat May 06, 2017 12:28 pm

Worked two days straight on my room this week. Actually made some pretty good progress. Got the center fake drawers in both the base cabinets made into real drawers. Made dividers for the drawers with one being divided in the center and one off set to one side. The off set divided one will be for checkering tools and other tools for checkering jobs and small stock working tools. Did not make them real deep so now I won't be tempted to over loading these drawers with big heavy items. My base cabinets and counter is coming around and I might not have to make any changes to it.

This is the two fake drawers made up to use now.

This is my old base and counter top I had before the accident. This will be used for rough work and keep my new counter top from getting beat up.

All the wood used for the drawers and base trim is from what I had left from the accident and wood that the contractors threw away and I got it from the trailer before they hauled it to the land fill. They waste so much stuff when it is not from out of their pocket. I will eventually replace the old top but we are out of money right now and still have a ways to go to finish the rest.

The wood project is stacking up real good now, Bandit. Each nail & screw is taking you one step closer to a great-looking, re-modeled room. And that's a very nice job on making those fakes into real drawers. Appreciate the post & pics.

You are really going to have a workroom to be proud of, bandit. You haven't rushed anything, and it's all good quality and very well put together. Great job! Image

If there's something you can't do with wood, Bandit, I'd be amazed. Great job. Thanks for the progress report and photos. It's always a pleasure to see the silver lining gleam a lot brighter.

I agree with everyone else. Nice work, especially on those drawers. I'm glad to see the room coming together again.

I'm glad to hear you save the scraps. I dismantled some pallets yesterday I got from work. Today, I'm going to see if I can turn most of it into a raised bed stand and raised bed. I like to re-purpose when possible.

Looks really nice bandit. Have the boulders come yet for the front yard?
