I talked to Henry customer service today.
They told me the Big Boy steel .327's "should START shipping this week or next".
Of course their web site still says "Ships March 2017"

Maybe this week...

One thing I feel confident about ... Henry won't ship unless they are ready.

I ran into the same problem with the old Marlin company when they introduced the .32 H&R. There was quite a delay.

The smaller caliber presented a few surprises when the were perfecting the feeding mechanism. It just wasn't the same as the .357 like they had visualized, that's how we ended up with a tube feed version. Henry shouldn't have the same issue, but I would imagine the are just making sure we get quality.

I haven't had a bad henry yet.

BTW: That case of Starline brass I bought is as good as ever. Very nice brass. 3 days from the factory. I'm going to load it up with some 115 gr RNFP. It's a .32-20 bullet, but it has worked exceptionally well in every .32 H&R I have tried. I'm planning on using trail boss as usual. They will be mild loads, but the extra case length should still gain me a 200 fps.

This is as close to a .32-20 most of us are going to realize in the near future.

This is as anxiously as I have waited in quite a few years for a new production rifle. Ain't it Fun!

I bought 500 cases of Starline .327 brass when I bought my SP101.
I also just ordered those same .32-20 115gr RN Meister Cast bullets.

I don't think I've ever been this anxious waiting on a new production firearm.

I've moved on and am going to spend my gun money on another piece. I went through this with a Ruger SR1911.. All hipe by the manufacturer and no product. Made me not even look at them when they did eventually come out.

Welcome to the forum, dek. You won't find a better firearms company than Henry, so I hope your selection of another piece is still a Henry. New products can take time to hit the marketplace; I'd encourage you to be patient and hold out a bit longer; but let us know what you decide to do. Good luck.

I'm on a wish list to get a steel big boy 16". I ordered 500 cases last January and 115 gas check flat nose bullet mold. I am just going to wait patiently for them to ship. I always wanted a 32 H&R Marlin but missed the boat on that. This should be even better

Welcome to the forum from CT, rigger. You're going to love your new Henry. Let us know as soon as you get it, and post a range report shooting your handloads. Congratulations.

My question is, how loud is it? I have to suspect it to be like a 30 carbine. LOUD!

The 30 carbine is loaded to perform in 18" barrel not a 4" and loaded with rifle powder and 1/2 the powder is burning outside the barrel . Loaded with a powder like Unique it is very quiet and performs well in a pistol . You could call it a 9MM magnum and a super round in pistol if you are a handloader .

By moving on I meant finding other pieces to plug some holes in my collection. I wouldn't abandon Henry for a delay on the .327's . I'm a huge fan of the 327 and in my eyes Henry is the the only company to have listened to the public and produced a rifle in that caliber. We have been begging Marlin and others to no effect.
I love lever actions and own several Henry's...44-40 ,44 mag, 41 mag, 357, and 22. I love my Henry's and look forward to getting a 327, but for now I have other itches.

I hadn't noticed that, thanks for the update .... in checking ... https://www.henryusa.com/rifles/henry-big-boy-steel/ .... they note that both the ".327 Fed Mag & .41 Mag Ships April, 2017" .... that's good news for several of our folks
