I received a beautiful new Henry Trapper knife as a thank you from our forum friend Dan at Henry. He called me one day a month or so ago and asked for a favor. I agreed. Later, a coffee mug and a paper that indicated Henry trapper knife, bone scales on backorder. It arrived over the weekend while I was at camp. I couldn't wait to open it, knowing it would be special. Like every other Henry accessory, it was American made. But by who was what I was wondering.
Here is the knife and the maker will become very apparent very soon.
Now Imagine my excitement as I looked at the above photographs. Still no indication of who made it.
The bone on the Henry side looks just like wood. It's more apparent that it's bone on the reverse side. The fit and finish are typical Case quality. The glue on the Henry over wrap had separated during shipping, but it took noting away from the wonderful knife.
On the over wrap, one side says Made in America and priced right, the other side says "Load on Sunday, Shoot all week long".
The over all flawless Case quality is evident in this knife. The blades are both super sharp. Almost razor like. Not quite. I may put it on a ceramic rod and a strop, but likely will leave it as is and make it a display knife.
I couldn't be more pleased with this knife. I hope to see it cataloged soon at Henry.
