Re: Official 2017 NASCAR Thread
Interesting race, especially at the end.
That 42 sure was strong.
Congrats to Larson and glad for Ganassi as well.
Truex finished a respectable 4th.

Re: Official 2017 NASCAR Thread
NASCAR's new staging system for awarding points appears to be well received .... from what I've see it does make things interesting as each stage comes to an end :
Just six weeks into the 2017 season, the implementation of stages for all three NASCAR national series has grown from mild concern to garage-wide positive reviews. The format change, announced Jan. 23, provides two pre-determined breaks in each championship points event and rewards those drivers running in the top 10 at the end of each stage with additional championship and playoff points. The format is used in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, XFINITY Series and Camping World Truck Series.
The move does more than just generate additional opportunities for drivers to earn points -- it also creates more up-on-the-wheel moments throughout the course of each event. "I don't think any of us went into it thinking that we were going to have incredible action at the end of every single stage," Scott Miller, NASCAR Senior Vice President of Competition, told NASCAR.com on Wednesday. "But I think we have produced enough stages that were intriguing and compelling. One of the things I think has been really good for us -- scoring in that top 10, a lot of times we'll find a pretty intense battle for seventh, eighth, ninth just to get some more points built up. That's something I don't think we would have seen had we not had the stages laid out as they are."

Re: Official 2017 NASCAR Thread
I had my doubts in the beginning, lol, but I pretty much like the new stage racing and points system myself.
But still Do Not like the 5 Minute Rule and the Behind the Wall Rule.
Hope to see them tweek it and get rid of them.

I have Dish. I have all my previous recording sessions (stations and times) preserved and they work great for the CUP series. For some reason I'm not getting the Xfinity or the Truck series races recorded. Can someone tell me what stations they are broadcasting them? I've missed every race so far this season and can't find where they are being broadcast on Dish.
Thanks for any help. I feel like a creaton.

If I understand correctly, aren't they being broadcast with FOX too? Doesn't Dish use FOX for all the races? At least for this part of the season. My mistake, some are on FS1, I just checked. Starting on June 30, the Xfinity races will be on NBC and NBCSN.Bish1309 wrote:I have Dish. Looks like the truck series stays on FOX and FS1 the whole season.

Thanks for the replies. I know the season is broke into 2 parts. I hate the NBC half.
