Speaking of Cowboy stuff, I would love to own a Horse, lol.

Of all the times I rode, I really enjoyed it.

And I have the Land to keep it on too, lol.

But just could never afford the costs, yet anyway.

Would love to find a way to raise Horses to help pay to keep one or two, but that would be way down the road, if even possible.

The Bureau of land management is looking for homes for over 50,000 Mustangs. Unfortunately, like you said buying them is the easy part. You can pick one up "out the door" for around $800.00. But everything else they need goes through the roof. I thought about doing that too. I've even looked into the option of Leasing a Horse, that comes with its own issues. Of course you can't be a Cowboy/Girl, without a cow, lol.

Since I'm not in a position to commit to any of the above, I have to visit those who do have it. Sometimes I spend the day at New Mexico State university where they let you check out the Horses, Cows, Pigs, Sheep, Goats, Bulls etc. They're located at their Agricultural Center off of exit 142 route 10. I go horse back riding with Josh at El Paso Trail Rides. I learn a lot visiting Landon at New Mexico Equestrian Mercantile. I'm looking to make friends with someone who actually has a working farm in my area. What's in it for them is me helping out for free just for the experience!

I know they have those "getaways" where you pay for a day at a farm but I can't getaway. I'm also not looking to PAY anyone to help them with their chores, lol.

Just a suggestion is to look for someone who owns a horse and wants to share the boarding costs. There are lots of people who own a horse, pay board at a stable, but can't be there to ride much. It can be a win-win-win (2 people, 1 horse) if you find the right person. Wet saddle pads and miles make good horses.
