Hey All,

I'm a Sergeant First Class stationed in FT. Bliss Texas for 1yr as it stands for now. I grew up watching Cowboy flicks and still do. There's one playing on the tube now. Gun Smoke, Dead or Alive, Rifleman, Bananza just to name a few. I know I'm preaching to the choir so I'll get to the point. I just got to Texas 3 months ago and I'm enjoying the freedoms my state doesn't offer. The right to bear arms and the freedom of riding my Harley without a helmet. With that said I decided to pick up a few guns that helped shape America. I won't pay the premium on originals, I'll enjoy the replicas just the same. So I picked up my Henry Golden Boy.45cal and a Ruger Vaquero.45cal. That's where Ricky2Guns comes from. Although, I am looking for a 18" barrel 12Ga. Coach Gun.
No plans to change the name to Ricky3Guns.

When not shooting I'm taking advantage of the Rodeos, horseback riding, small town livestock Auctions, etc. I'm looking to get as much of the Cowboy experience I can get. I'm coordinating with a rancher to go on a Cattle Drive this summer. I look forward to sharing information with the folks on this site. Other than my assigned military weapons IDK jack about civilian guns. So I may have some questions. I did have a blast (pun intended) with firing these two weapons.

I was originally interested in the Stoeger Coach gun but they kind of disappeared from sight. I think there must have been a problem unfortunatley.

Welcome to the forum from the Shenandoah Valley - glad to have you join the conversation. What you got there is a nice looking Vaquero and a Henry Bigboy in 45LC. A Golden Boy is a 22LR/WMR. You don't want to give your rifle an inferiority complex, do you?

Henry88- I hear companies aren't really putting out too many Coach Guns. But when they do put a few out, they fly off the shelves. The hardest to find seem to be the 18" barrels. If I was to get exactly what I wanted, it would have been pistol grip, and 13" barrel. But you can't get them like that unless you pay the ATF tax of $500. I'm not that interested.

BrokenolMarine- I asked this woman at an Equestrian shop. If she was to buy a belt buckle where would she go. She says I don't buy my buckles I earn them. I felt like a fraud having to buy mine, lol. Truth is, I don't have the availability/skill to join an organization in order to compete for a buckle. For the first time in my life I admit to being a wanna be, lol.

Tractortad- My salesman failed me, and I guess my research needed more refining. Thanks for the correction, I learned something already and haven't been a member for more than 24hrs,lol.

Welcome from Colorado. We use to have some cowboys out here but they have all been chased away by concrete iron coaches with engines filled with some different form of life.

Another welcome from Wisconsin. Have lived out west, most of my life, and am very much a cowgirl at heart.

Being a cowgirl or cowboy, though, is as much a state of mind as it is where we live. I am reminded that the great Annie Oakley never traveled west of the Mississippi until she joined Buffalo Bill's Wild West show. She was an Ohio girl all her life.
