I loaded sixteen ton and what did I get?

Okay its only 14.91 ton of half-man granite. I will be putting these rocks around the house and garden. They were delivered on the lower corner so I will be hauling them (by hand) up 20 feet and scattered around an acre.

Besides a sore back, toes (if you drop one), and a nice yard when you finish?...... ....Maybe, "another day older, and deeper in debt." ?

You said you'll "scatter 14.91 ton of half-man granite" over an acre. Decorative purpose? Borders, or just random? Curious about your landscaping plans....

It takes 180 days for a fingernail to grow completely out after losing it. Just a useless fact a dumb carpenter like me knows first hand!

That is about how long it took. It was my trigger finger too.

So this is your annual cardio workout! You are a tough old bird aren't you.
You know the drill bend the knees, straight back, lift with the legs. And given your history with the finger..... Wear thick gloves.

About ten years ago, I moved three tons of rocks that were about the same size to build what would become our beautiful Watergarden. I thought I was careful, but my back was never the same afterwards. Five years ago I needed spinal fusion surgery to repair it because I couldn't walk more than a few hundred feet before the pain became too intense to go farther. Now, I can walk again and actually quite far, but never without pain.

Please be very careful. People our age don't heal as quickly as we once did.

I do knee pends almost every morning.

Don't you at least have a wheelbarrow to help with the task? I have been in the building trades for over 48 years and now have pain all the time. Please at least pace yourself or maybe hire a young strong neighbor to help you.

Yeah, I was going to say something about they have these newfangled things called wheels. They put several of them under a box. Then you can just pull it where you want to go. Good luck with your project, be safe.

I'd be renting a skidsteer for a day. Load the bucket and take them where you want them. You're still hand placing them but no packing them around.
