444 Marlin and 30-30 Chambering Request

Post by Ferguson-Outfitters » Fri Mar 24, 2017 9:10 am

I sure would like to see Henry do a 444 Marlin chambering. I would appreciate anyone that can send a note to Henry with such a request.

I think a single shot 30-30 (30 wcf) would be awesome too.

Henry has a 45-70 and will do everything a 444 will do CHEAPER . The 444 and 45-70 are 2 peas in a pod and there is not that biggest different beween them .

Me, too. Would love to see anyone make another 444. Love the cartridge. Having had both the 444 and the 45-70, I found the 444 to be a touch flatter shooting and little less punishing, overall, on the recoil. More of reloader's cartridge, though, because factory 444 ammo is harder to find than 45-70.

The bullet selection for the 444 is more limited,,,, For reloaders there are not any Rifle velocity bullets, a lot of pistol 44magnum bullets but none in the weight class that the 45-70 can push out......You run the chance of bullet failure pushing a pistol bullet at rifle velocity. I looked at getting a 444 because I have a good collection of .429 bullets and molds. I have tried to economize on the number of different calibers that I shoot it was a lost cause, since I was getting another rifle caliber I figgered I might as well get a totally different one.
