Hardwood Floors and Rugs
I haven't been posting much as the house has been taking up a lot of my time. All the hardwood floors are done and cured. I still need a few more area rugs but for the most part they are all bought.
Family room and kitchen Between kitchen and family room, and hallway leading to the kitchen. Note the wood bench is not finished. Living room and dining room. Sorry about the junk in the living room. The dinning hall doesn't have a table yet. Front entrance and study. Bedroom with stacked rugs. Note the Henry Rifle Cabinet in the corner. All my rugs are wool except for the one at the entrance (above) in front of the door. And I have a few silk rugs like this one. These two runners are in the side and back hall. The long runner is 20'.

Great looking floors and just awesome area rugs! Things look lovely, and your new gun cabinet looks good there.

Re: Hardwood Floors and Rugs
We have the same issue as TGR wth putting rugs on our hardware floors, namely, our dogs. Rugs are pet hair magnets. It's the reason we pulled up all the carpeting and installed wood floors, in the first place. Love those rugs, though, Gene. Very nice.

Good job! Thanks for sharing.
Your oak floors are very close to my solid oak floors with a hand finish. I mentioned this in one of your other threads somewhere on this forum.
I have 3 patterns in my classic, oriental rugs in this house and they are very close to yours too. Two of the classic patterns are all wool and the third one is a modern fiber. I put the modern fiber - classic pattern rug at the other end of the kitchen/family room. I did not put any rugs in the bedroom but I could since I have a spare one. The second bedroom/den is my husband's gun room and I left that with a bare floor too.
Most of my floors are more 'bare' throughout this small house that I built.
I figured if I ever got another puppy out here... I would do the same thing here as I did for all of my late, sweet and old dogs back east... pretty bare floors. I liked it for over 30 years back there and I wanted the same thing here.
If I build again, another small house, not a big house like what I had back east, or even a rustic cabin, I will still have solid oak floors and use a couple of oriental rugs. Keep one at the front door/back door and only under a couple of Stressless chairs.
Enjoy your new floors and have fun with any other of your finishing touches.
Take care of yourself. God bless you.

Congratulations on having such a beautiful home, SH.
And TX, Duke looks like he doesn't have a care in the world. Just like it should be.

Cate, those classic designs are mostly Persian Tabrizs but I also have a few Afghan Kazaks. Some of mine are new but most are at least 40 years old.
NCG, having two cats requires me to vacuum everyday. I have four different vacs and they all do a different job on the floors.

Gene, that rug in the kitchen is very nice. The hardwood floors are beautiful. We also have the t&g strip oak floors thru out our house.
