first segment went without incident .... my girl started 24th and has moved up to 17th where she is still on the lead lap

for those who like races with no yellow flags, the first 2 stages at Atlanta are perfect for you .... Harvick has bee the class of the field and has now lead more total laps at Atlanta than any other active driver .... my girl is still running 17th but now is 1 lap down

Really a heartbreaker for Kevin Harvick but congrats to Brad and my guy Chase finished 5th so I am happy with that finish for him. And he finished 2nd in each of the 2 segments.

The Pit Road penalties sure bit a lot of drivers today and as mentioned, Harvick felt it the worst.

Still salvaged a 9th place though and still first in the Standings.

Once Brad had to pit for loose Lug Nuts, I figured he was done, but like they say, it's never over till it's over.

one of the major reasons given for the new points system is to reward good racing throughout the entire race .... Harvick had the dominate team for all but a hand full of laps .... under the old system he wouldn't have gotten much credit .... I'm starting to like the new system

Shrub reverted back to his throwing a tantrum when things go his way, can't see I was sorry to see him come out of the post race scuffle a bit on the bloody side

on replay, a big member of Joey's crew grabbed him and pulled him away while the rest of his crew took down Kyle and apparently worked on his head .. ... not too smart to jump a competitor right in the middle of his crew .... kind of like the old bit of football wisdom, you don't start a fight on the other team's bench ...

Martin Truex finally had luck goes his way for a change.

He sure seemed happy. His girl friend too. Real glad for them both.

I've never seen Kyle that mad. Joey retaliates on the last lap. Kyle was just trying to get around Brad. There is a reason why Joey is the most unliked and he showed it again today.

Funny as I was just saying before the race that I didn't think they were that good of friends. The camera showed Kyle and Joey talking and laughing just before the start of the race.

I would have to see it again, but I believe it was Kyle's crew that was holding Kyle back, along with some security people.

Yeah, you're right. It was mostly Joey's crew that was all around Kyle when he was on the ground.

(Too many yellow uniforms there, lol).

Congratulations to Marty, he was awesome today and deserves the win. It appeared to me that Kyle was trying to get around Brad and Joey was going to use Brad to block Kyle, but Kyle wasn't having any of that and forced his way thru. Joey didn't like that and drove into Kyle causing him to spin out at almost 200 mph. It was unnecessary what Joey did and he will surely pay for this later in the season.
