My wife's and my Varmint rifles

Here is a picture of my wife's and my Varmint rifles. Don't get to put them to use quite as much as I would like but still take them out even if just to knock some holes through some pennies. Front to rear: Sako AI 222 Remington---Remington 700V 22-250 I put in a wood stock---Tikka 223 Remington

Front to rear: Remington 700V 223 in a stock I made years ago from a piece of walnut. Ended up on this gun and I painted it to hide the battle scars from being on other 700's. This has also been converted to a single shot. Center is Remington Sportsman 78 223--- rear- 700 Classic 223 that is a amazing shooting sporter rifle.

Some days we just shoot pennies for targets at our clubs 100 yd. range.

I'm impressed! I have a few CZ's that can do a quarter inch at 100 yards and I know the concentration it takes to do it. On most days I'm at an inch but it looks like you are closer to 1/8". Tell us about the scopes you use.

Sir Henry, The 700V 22-250 Has a Japan made 6-24 with fine cross hair and a target dot. The 700V 223 with the painted stock has a 6-18 Leupold. The Classic 700 223 has a Philippines made Simmons 6-18. I won't buy China but Japan and the Philippines seem to be good. My Nikons are made in the Philippines also. We can't always shoot like we would like to. A penny is not really all that tough on still days. Here was a good day with great conditions. Remington 700 Classic using 45 ACP brass for targets with them stuck in the target with the head of the case out. I shot at 5 with 5 shots and hit all in a row but never found nothing but little pieces of the one missing. My wife does well until we get 45 ACP or 9MM case size and then she misses most but so close it is still good shooting. She has no problem with 12 and 20ga. shell heads.


This was my wife shooting the shot shell heads. I teased her about not hitting them in the primer so she said "Let's see you hit these." She stuck two 44 Magnum Blazer brass in the target and I got lucky and hit the primer on both shots at them. She looked at them and said "I quit." Some days everything is right.
