Many of you may be aware that Henry has a limited time feature where you can order a new Henry with the serial number of your choosing. While at first glance, it's a cool idea, I'm also more than a little conflicted about it. I don't usually sell guns; I just buy more. And more. And more... well, you get the picture.

But suppose I did have a Henry and wanted or even needed to sell it. If the serial number on my Henry was, oh, say "HAROLDS45LC," I'm thinking that could put a damper on resale value.
I suppose a custom serial number wouldn't have to have a person's name in it, but I'm thinking most buyers would not be all that interested if the custom number was BB01041948, or something like that.
There is a seller on GunBroker who has ordered a batch of Henry's with custom serial numbers with people's names in them. I'm a bit tempted to get one, but I'm afraid the catch would be that it would not be easy to sell. And heck, Harold is not even my name!
