red flag, second segment, lap 108 .... the good news is, the 18 caused a wreck that took him out .... the bad news is, he took the 88 with him .... my girl is in 10th place

A fairly big wreck that takes out Jimmy Johnson and about five others. Correction, about 16 cars involved!

Re: Official 2017 NASCAR Thread
What a race.
I was hoping on Martin Truex again, but in my opinion he dipped out too early. I would had waited till the last lap.
Ryan Blaney did a great job bringing it home 2nd.
Not a Kurt Busch fan, but he ran a good race and congrats to him and his new Ford team.
Fords sure seemed strong today.
Like the Stage racing better than I thought. Really like the new Points system.
Do not like the 5 Minute Rule or the Behind the Wall Rule.
Have a feeling that it may be eliminated in time.

Hey you have to give Kurt Busch credit he was patience and didn't jump out too quickly and won the race. I was hoping Martin Truex would win but the Fords were tough on Sunday. Great race!

I guess Im the odd ball here. I dont care for the stage racing from what I saw yesterday and they still need to throw those restrictor plates in the trash and let them run what they brung. Ya 220 is fast but if the car wont handle it they in time will find one that will. Just dont care for this bunched up racing and when one guy blows a tire takes out 20 cars. Its boring to me. Look what they have developed with restrictor plates cars are back at near 200 with them.

More or less my same point as before, but if the builders of the Superspeedways knew what was about to happen in the near future, they probably would have never built them the way they did. That's one reason why I like Short Track racing. Restrictor Plates on them are, of course, just a non issue.

Have to agree. This stage nonsense seems like it might be more appropriate for an ARCA series race format or go carting. Not the big boys.
I'm afraid if this lack of pedal to the metal mindset continues, the racing is going to be even more uneventful. JMHO of course. Good time for a nap.

To be honest, after seeing this format I wish they had not made the change but I will still try to watch every race. I like 'em all but not a big fan of the road courses.

Yep, from what I read they shoud drop the green flag about 2:45, Kevin Harvick with the pole, one of my favorites.
