Well folks I had a bad experience at the range on Thursday night. I was going out to test CCI STD Vel for testing and the rifle started having feed issues. Rounds would hit the top edge of the chamber and would jam. I tried multiple brands of ammo (CCI mini mag solid/hp, CCI Std Vel, Winchester White Box bulk, Federal Bulk, Federal Blue Box). The worst was WWB bulk, 4 of 16 rounds missfed. All other ammo types had one to two misfeeds per full ammo tube.
Speed of working the lever did not matter. Working the lever faster and with power would only result in a round being bent and lead shaved off the round. The round would then need to be pried out of the ramp using a dental tool. Working the lever slowly or at a moderate speed would result in the round being dented / lead shaved off by the edge of the chamber.
So another call was placed to Henry CS. Rifle is now in transit back to the factory for exchange. This exchange will be my 4th rifle in the past 2 months.
Site seems to be OK. Load issue should be resolved now.

All along, I have been shooting with a six o'clock hold. Sighting targets have been 1" squares and the rounds are landing 1" - 2.5" above the top of the square. Std Vel rounds put me right at the 1" above the top of the target. I would be OK if the POI would be at the top of the square but being 4 to 10 MOA above the target is not acceptable for my purpose to run this rifle at an Appleseed AQT.

Well, sounds to me that you do need a taller front sight. Have you called Henry about it?
Oh, and as for the taller sight? I think what I would do is raise the rear sight to the middle of its adjustment range. Then I'd find something to use to temporarily raise the height of the front sight. JB Weld, or maybe even just soke modeling clay. Start building up the front sight until you get the rifle shooting where you want it to shoot. Then measure it, and you will know what size sight to get.

Great suggestion. I will try that with the next rifle they send to me. The third copy of the rifle started having feed issues on the last range trip. When I get my next rifle, I hope that it is built correctly and it does run. If it shoots high, I will fix the sight issue myself. FTF issues are beyond my capabilities to fix.
If the next rifle does not run I will be selling it locally or ask Henry for a refund and cutting my losses.
