Heading for March
We are heading into March in a week. The weather has been very different from our normal January and February weather. March can some years be snowy and freezing rain and sleet in our area but maybe it will not be like that this year. My wife and I usually have a lot of snow to ride the 4-wheeler on the mountain and look for porcupines and other varmints. We always carry a 22 to use if we have a chance to and do some shooting at the range on the way back down from the higher area. My wife misses the riding we get in during winter snow covered ground and she will go with single digit temps if we can get out together. This is what it normally looks like in February when we ride. She had her peep sighted 1975 39A with her this day on the mountain at 12*.

my sincere respects .... decades ago I enjoyed getting out in such weather but that time is long gone .... the warm temps we've experienced in Texas this winter are much more to our liking

Re: Heading for March
That's my kind of winter weather. Our current February thaw has allowed me to do some road bicycling that I would normally never get to do in February and that's been fun, but it's put my snow sports in the dumpster. We may get a snow storm over the weekend, though, so things may get back to normal. March is still solidly a winter month for us.

That looks absolutely stunning, Bandit. It almost makes me wish for snow ...... and porcupines.
One of my extremely friendly but dopey dogs used to frequently come home with porcupine quills in her nose. We had them on the property, and she just couldn't stay away from them.
She was quite intelligent in lots of things, but porcupines wasn't one of them.

That's some beautiful scenery. We seem to be having an early spring here in Wisconsin. Was 65 and sunny today. Unheard of for February. Our grass is even getting green.

Heading for March, dozens of Daffodils in our CT backyard have sprouted and are about 6 inches tall already. Hoards of Grackels, Starlings, and Redwing Blackbirds have arrived, too. I'm expecting the Robins to return any minute now.

Working outside, I'm enjoying this warm spell! But I still think there's going to be a big snow storm before spring!
Bandit, next time I look at my Feb calendar, I'm going to think of that picture! Great pic!
