Hello From San Diego

Post by Den60 » Sat Jan 21, 2017 6:12 pm

Hello,

Just wanted to introduce myself. Just bought my first lever gun, the Henry "Big Boy" in .357. Being in California I have to wait the mandatory 10 days before picking it up but I thought I would pop in here and say "hi."

The 10 day wait is a joke and so is Ca . Most people have more that 1 gun , so the cooling down period don't work for those people . They can just choose a different gun they have in there safe and not wait 10 days. Ca need to pass a law it is illegal to shoot some ... OH they have that law already .... Now that don't work either

Welcome from Colorado. Even though the wait may not be right it will be worth it when you get it because any Henry is worth waiting for. Al

Yes, the 10 day waiting period is pretty dumb. This will be my 6th firearm but only my second rifle. Didn't mean to buy it. My son was going to the gun store to DROS a S&W TRR8 so I went with him for "moral support." They had the Henry right out front, just a beautiful rifle. The previous week a buddy of mine purchased an old Sears and Roebuck Ted Williams 30-30 lever rifle. Once I held it I had to have one, always wanted a lever gun. Had been researching a bit trying to decide between .357 or .44. Also went back and forth between Henry and Marline. Since this will be mainly for fun I decided on the .357 since I have a Ruger GP100 in .357. Was going to be a future purchase but once seeing it in person I just had to have it. Of course, being a .357 it can be used for more than just shooting paper if needed.
