Happy New Year All!
Henry 41 mag.
Henry 41 mag.
This is sooooo much fun to shoot! First time out, iron sights, could hit a pop can pretty consistent. Has been scoped now, Leupold 2.5-8. Sighted at 50 yards. 9 gr of Unique Berry 210 at 1250 fps, 5" low at 100 yds. 20 gr of H110 210 xtp at 1620, 2.5 low at 100 yds. The XTP shoots one inch higher than Berry bullet. Now I have to order more bullets.

I love all God's creatures, some are better with gravy.

The 41 mag is King at my house. Without a doubt my favorite round. Have the Henry and the Ruger Blackhawk both in 41 to play with. Al

I have a blackhawk in 6.5", wished it was 4.5". Just handles better. It amazes me how "obsolete" 41 mag is so popular, yet don't ever see them used anywhere!

Re: Henry 41 mag.
Seems to be a recurring theme here. Henrys are fun to shoot!
Load on Sunday and Shoot all Week.......okay it's a Mare's Leg I will reload on Wednesday.
Re: Henry 41 mag.
The 41 mag has seen a resurgence. It is more popular now than you think. Henry stepped up to the plate and I think they have sold a bunch of them. I wouldnt think they would come out with the carbine and the big boy if sales weren't there. I know when that carbine hits the shelves one is coming to my house. I love the way the carbine handles as I have one in 45 colt. Al

Re: Henry 41 mag.
I owned a S&W 41 mag revolver for a few months back in the mid to late 60's ....the time I also owned 357 & 44 mag revolvers .... don't know about now but one of the things that caused me to let the 41 go and keep the other two was unfired brass was scarce and I couldn't find much of a bullet selection for reloading .... its a good cartridge, I hope that has changed
Re: Henry 41 mag.
I'm curious about this caliber, but hate the fact of buying all the stuff to reload with. Dan Wesson also made a 414 Super Mag similar to the other Super Mag calibers, a stretched out 41mag. These are VERY RARE and big $$$, I saw one sell this summer for over $6500.00!!!

Re: Henry 41 mag.
just checked and Starline does offer 41 Mag Brass ===> https://www.starlinebrass.com/brass-cases/41-Mag-Brass/
Nosler does offer 200 and 240 grain JHP's (my hunting bullet of choice) ===> http://www.cabelas.com/product/shooting ... type%3DGNU
Oregon Trail offers 200 gr RNFP and 242 gr SWC lead practice bullets ===> http://www.cabelas.com/product/shooting ... type%3DGNU
that's a far cry from what I remember back in the '60's

Re: Henry 41 mag.
Theres brass avaliable and all the the cast and copper plated bullet mfgs offer it in 41 mag. If you just look on the net you will find what you need. Its one of those calibers that you need to load for because buying loaded ammo will cost you a fortune. Al

Re: Henry 41 mag.
10-4 .... as noted, I used to have a 41 and do respect it .... but, I have no interest in buying another .... the same is true for 45 Colt, another remarkable caliber .... I'm happy components are available for those who do favor them .... I've settled on 357 and 44 Mag .... the only Henry I'm interested in adding to the 3 we already have is a 357BigAl52 wrote:Theres brass avaliable and all the the cast and copper plated bullet mfgs offer it in 41 mag.
