Thanks, she is doing pretty well for someone that is 101. The only big problem is her mind, which is to be expected. She doesn't believe that she is 101, but she still has a sense of humor. She was born in February 1915.daytime dave wrote:Nice revolver Dutch. I hope your mother was fine.

Glad your mom was fine Dutch.
Another day of work and then work behind the scenes. A like button may be coming soon.
Not as soon as this well deserved martini.
I hope your day was good.

101 year old mom? Amazing. The changes she's seen since she was a child. Nice revolver.
Well I didn't ride today I stayed home fixing wire fence. Had to be done. Tomorrow though a neighbor is branding 30 head so I'll head over there. Should be a good day. Lots of branding from now til June. Tea time and supper soon!

It's a bowl of chips and a couple of cans of Budweiser tonight while I watch the "final four." The wind is howling and the rain is pounding against the window. It went from 50* to 39* in short order. To get down to 30* tonight with much lower wind chills. The chihuahua is snuggled down between me and arm of my easy chair. Chihuahuas like to snuggle. Or, is she just here for the chips?

Just got home. Branding at a neighbors place all day. TIRED. Having a mug of tea and all chores done for the day. Branded 40 yearlings, and roped at least a couple dozen cuz not many people showed up to help. My big paint horse is whupped. Extra hay tonight for him and his buddies. Great day, sunshine and warm. Beautiful.

Wow, a real cowboy in the midst! I'm so glad I have the honor of sharing space here with you.
If I was wearing a hat now sir, I would take it off to you. Thank you for living a life I can only dream of.
I tweaked the forum today, spent time organizing and making the man cave, and made a pot of sauce for the bracciole. I thought I was productive today, but I didn't brand a single thing. This martini is well needed now.
What did the rest of you do today?

Re: The Adult Evening Beverage
You take the bad with the good though; had a nasty little wreck today though. Horse stepped over my rope that was attached to a hefty critter. Rope ran up between his front legs, burned some hair and skin off before I caught on what happened. Then it was on. Bucked hard a few times and before me, him, cow and ropes were all one mess I bailed out. All good til the ground got in my way. Horse ok, cow ok, I'm ok. Could have been worse. We carried on cuz I wanted my horse to finish well and not be scared for next time. Things get western in hurry sometimes. Not much you can do. Put some stuff on his rope burn and we'll live to brand another day!

Plus one tip of the hat to RanchRoper. You are living the dream.
I had a good day, taught a yoga class this morning. Painted the spare bedroom which will be my retreat when finished. Logged on here and found out that I was selected to help take out the trash.
Now relaxing with a glass of Zinfandel.

Re: The Adult Evening Beverage
Another long day. I wanted to make a link to the Henry website come to fruition. It has. it clashes with the site logo. It will be improved upon, but it's there.
I'm tired. I'm having a nice Manhattan and then off to bed. Before I go, I'll share my favorite Manhattan story.
An acquaintance of mine had a father who had reached well into his nineties. One day, he went to the doctors for a check up.
"You are very healthy Mr. XXXXX. However, you should consider only having one Manhattan a night, instead of two."
Mr. XXXXX replied, "Well doctor, at my age, it would be easier for me to change doctors than my habits."
He lived to be 98 years old. I was privileged to honor him as he rode by on his last ride.
I could change my habits, but why?

Did a little grocery shopping today and watched that great college basketball championship game tonight. I was hoping that for the championship that it would be a good game since the 2 "final four " games were no fun to watch. It surely was an exciting game, one of the greatest championship games ever! Being from Pa. and having been on the campus of Villanova and spending a lot of time in the Philadelphia area and my son having graduated from LaSalle University, which is near there and knowing people who attended Villanova, we were rooting for them to win tonight. But, North Carolina has nothing to be ashamed of, they are one great team.

As far as wrecks go it was about a 6 out of 10. Could have been worse. We all walked away. Off to another roping next weekend
Thanks.

Glad all three are OK, and all walked away. My day was quite tame comparatively, so will not go there.
