My favorite Christmas present

Post by Deadwood Dutch » Sat Dec 24, 2016 10:57 pm

We opened some of our presents tonight with my son and his family after we had dinner. I suppose you always have a favorite, and the kid in me liked this one best of all. Since Tony Stewart is retiring next year I have chosen Carl Edwards as my favorite NASCAR driver and I had mentioned it sometime in the past and my son must have heard me say it. I have collected other 1/24 scale diecast cars in the past but this one that he bought me really "takes the cake." It is by Lionel and it is a limited edition chrome, one of thirty, that Carl Edwards autographed.
It comes with a certificate and is produced with it's own unique Die-cast Identification Number which is visible through the car's back window and allows collectors the opportunity to register the car on-line and create their own virtual garage. I love it! That is just a reflection on the rear panel of the second photo.

That is incredible. I love small and miniature engineering, and a lot of work has gone into making that. It really is a present to be proud of. :D

Good idea on the case. It will keep dust off too. That's a nice looking car, let alone that is one of a few. Very nice.

How is the virtual garage?

From what I can understand, there is no way to post a picture of a diecast in the "virtual garage." The purpose is to display the "product details," which is a nice feature.
