Pump air guns, great American classics

One of the reasons (out of many reasons) I joined this forum was to maybe balance out my shooting with more lever rifle action and maybe a Henry or two. We'll see.

More nice looking air rifles and great info. You've convinced me that I need to balance out my shooting with a quality air rifle - I'm saving up for a HW95/97...

You know, when people ask me for advice on how to become a good shot, I always tell them to shoot airguns. This time of year, I shoot in the basement, just about every day. Rarely miss a day. My cost in pellets in a month of shooting, every day, even for premium grade pellets is about the same as a box of 357 ammo, which takes me less than an hour to shoot at the range.

I got my 7-year-old daughter a pink Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas and we've been having a great deal of fun with it. So far, I've shot it as much as she has. Then today I was in Sportsman's Warehouse to pick up a bag of shot to load some shells for a trap competition next weekend and I happened to go down the air gun aisle. I looked at all of them and there was really some cool stuff!

I saw that there's now a Daisy pump gun that looks just like the Sears-Ted Williams model I had as a kid. I'm kicking myself for not buying it right then and there. I'll get it the next time I'm down there.

Can't wait to set up a small range here in our back yard!
