Tony Bennett's 90th birthday celebration

Post by PT7 » Sat Dec 24, 2016 12:00 am

Definitely music for the lounge!

For those of you who like Tony Bennett and his style music, his 90th birthday celebration was great to see, and especially to hear him sing. This took place earlier this week at Radio City Music Hall, and I had recorded it. Just watched it this evening, and it was an incredible & fantastic musical performance by the "young man of ninety years!!" I absolutely could not believe the quality and strength of his voice. Also watched several people in the audience shake their heads in awe at the singing....great stuff!

Hope this video works for you. There were a lot of folk, who participated in the fun evening. And what an audience, too!
Enjoy!

I saw a very recent clip where he went for his annual checkup.

Tony said the doctor told him, "Get out of my office, I have sick people to look after...." :D

We recorded and watched it, too. I totally agree with your review. It was an incredible celebration of tribute songs topped off by the man himself, sounding as good or better than he ever has before. Fantastic. I haven't deleted it yet. We both want to watch it again.

I have quite a collection of music from 1920's to 1950's, and Tony Bennett must be one of the last of the "crooners" left. Thanks for posting the link. An era in music we won't see again.

I always liked Tony Bennett and his music. Thank you for the post.

I adore Frank Sinatra and many other famous people who sing and play BEAUTIFUL MUSIC who may or may not be still with us.

May Tony have many more years to live and continue to perform.

However with that said and PLEASE excuse me here for saying this but TONY B. is extremely anti gun now or maybe he was in the past. Beats me on his past!

I hope that this does not get deleted or called 'political'. If it does... it would be a shame because some of these famous people of ANY generation and no matter how talented should be called out. I am sure that he is a 'nice man' too. He is very talented and I wish him well.

All I know is I am very sick and tired of Gun Owners and Shooters being equated with Nazi type people and called other bad names in the news. Tony's WORDS are on record now and he was/is involved with some of those anti gun 'groups'.

It was all over the real news several years ago and he was on commercials about guns should be restricted if not downright outlawed. I SAW him and others on the news, in commercials and NOT just on the net news with actual links to his commercials and speeches about GUN people.

He puts down the NRA, shooters, and ordinary gun owners. Yet he probably has personal SECURITY and TAXPAYER PAID (GOOD and honest New York policeman and others across this nation when he tours.) protection.

Most likely this is a sour note, no pun intended, but after several years of hearing stuff about HONEST and GOOD PEOPLE who own or shoot guns plus what so many of us have heard these past few years about GUN owners... I am making a point of not forgetting some people and what WE have been called.
