In case anyone wonders or cares, I spent most of August in the hospital and they told me I had a heart attack. After a lot of frustration and five stents I am finally back home as of Sat. August 29 about 3 pm. The Docs said no heart damage .

Good news, Travlin. That was a close call. A month in the hospital is hard to imagine, but I think a small price to pay get healthy again. Glad you're back. Take good care.

Been there, done that.
Back in 2002 during some surgery they thought I had a heart attack. I spent a few nights in ICU and then a week in the hospital.
It was most definitely not fun and it turned out in the end that I had not had a heart attack after all.

Thanks to all for your good thoughts and prayers. I seem to be making a little progress everyday. As a 32 year Mason, I can say that my Lodge Brothers have been amazing in all the help they have given my wife and I.Eveything from taking care of my yard to transportation Drs. the grocery store for the wife who has conditions rendering her unable to drive in the local traffic.Plus many visits while I was still in the hospital.

You beat me. I only had three stents. Speaking of heart attacks, while the stents were beings placed I started to feel some pain and since the doc said I should not feel any pain I told him. He said don't worry, your having a heart attack but I got it. Me being slightly dopey said cool, which got a nice laugh from the team. So the moral of the story is if you are going to an attack it is nice have three person team in attendance. Thank was twenty years ago. Speedy recovery, Travlin!

I recall reading a story which was offered as a true story about a Midwest farmer who fell ill at planting time. He was hospitalized for quite a period. When he returned from the hospital, he and his wife discovered someone had planted his fields so that he would not miss a harvest. As I recall, no one ever said a word to him about it but he knew it was his neighbors. I think there is guidance in the Bible which tells you to do good deeds anonymously. Don't ask me to quote the verse but I believe it is there.

I do something like that when I see a vet having a meal. I pay for his meal with instructions not to tell. Once or twice a year. Gives me nice feeling. I even got a kiss from a waitress once whose husband was KIA in the Mideast. Tears at the table that time.

Glad you are home again and hope for a great recovery. Did they give you a special diet to follow? I try to stay active and ride my bike around when I have some take it easy time but this summer weather has put the brakes on most of that.
