Crosman 1377

[GFK]

Decided to get so target practice in with my air pistol. After one sight adjustment, all rest were center. I was sitting about 7 yards away. Not a bad day.

Just ordered one on Amazon. I had been thinking about adding an inexpensive air pistol to the stable so I could plink from the back porch. I remember shooting ice cubes in the grass to teach the kids the basics. No clean up, and low power pellet guns accurate close in but no worries about misses leaving the acerage.

Should be here Saturday. Of course we will still shoot the big stuff on the rifle and pistol range. Sighted in the new streamlight G23 Light/Laser combo on the Glock 35 house gun Sunday. The old light mounted on the gun had gotten really dim, even with brand new batteries.

Great! That is why I got one. I grew up shooting pellet and BB guns. I think this one is going on 20 years now. I can keep in practice, without going to the range. Though, I do enjoy going to the range. Since I don't have one in my back yard, the air pistol works. Plus, it is cheap to shoot and less of a safety hazard to neighbors. Hope you enjoy your air pistol and the Big stuff!

Not a bad day indeed. The 1377 and 1322 are plenty of fun for a slow summer afternoon. They are plenty accurate out to some hard to belive distances.

I have both Marine. You and GFK should get the pellet dueling tree. You can sure tell the difference in the .22 over the .177.

Oh, wait, mine coming is the 177 caliber, so it must be the 1377. My mistake.
I'm only plinking at short distance. I have real 22s and the pistol range for those.
I wanted something for just off the porch.

I had a 22 caliber pellet years ago, used it for rats. Was a tack driver.

Thanks!! I was not aware of the .22 pellet gun, when I purchased the .117. Yet, I was looking for something to use as target practice. So, I may did not pay must attention to anything else. But, I may give one a try one day. Thanks!

There is an entire industry surrounding the mods and upgrades to these Crosman pistols. Most go with the steel breech first, but not all. It's a rabbit hole, and not unlike what happens with the 1022 rifles.
I have an older 1377 that I haven't shot much, but they're great fun and you can make them into whatever you heart and mind desires.

I got my 1377 this evening via Amazon. They also delivered the 1,000 177 pellets, the 177 cleaning kit which is the only one I didn't have, and extra brushes and bore mops I ordered. May as well start out with the proper gear. Too late to shoot tonight, and we were deep into the series we were watching anyway, so I set up to paint the front sight. (Old Eyes)

Two coats of Flourescent Orange Testors, then two coats of Clear Hard Nail Polish to protect the orange.

Will probably add another coat of each to smooth out the finish, but this will work for pellet gun plinking. I do the same for most of my guns these days. Makes the front sights POP and it's cheap. I paid $2.99 the last time I bought the paint and it's been used on a dozen guns so far. Someone suggested I give the Flourescent Green a try. They were out the last time I was in Hobby Lobby, but Miss Tina is in a couple times a month, will have her look next time she is in.

I have an older 1377 that I haven't shot much, but they're great fun and you can make them into whatever you heart and mind desires.

I've only added custom wood to two of mine. They are fine the way they are otherwise for me.

Was able to get out and shoot my 1377 this morning. Nice group of about 2" at fifteen yards. The group was high, and my memory issues bit me in the butt at first. When I went the wrong way in my adjustments, I made the problem worse. Ended up with a nice group around 12 o'clock but six inches high.

Came in to cool off and realized my mistake. Been a while since I had to adjust iron sights. Couple that with my memory issues and it is a recipe for a "Lucy and Ethel go Shooting Episode."

Yeah, yeah, I could pretend this was youtube and edit this episode. Unfortunately my life is more like I Love Lucy. Dave says "Sometimes you are Andy, sometimes you are Barney. "

Mine is more like Lucy or Ethel most days.

Hey Marine, Glad you got out! Don't know how much of a difference it may make, but I have been using Daisy Precision Max for my target practicing. I try and use at least 5-6 pumps. It is recommended to use at least 3 pumps. Very seldom will I use 10 pumps, unless there is a snake around that I would like to get rid of.

Dave, I like the setup! That is the one thing that I had been considering doing. Yet, it went to the back burner. After seeing yours again, I am bringing replacing the handle and grips back to the front burner. Thanks!
