I saw this black bear alongside the road about a half mile from my house this morning.

We both stood there and looked at each other for 30 seconds then he took off. I’m surprised he stopped to let me take his picture.

This fellow was spotted a few miles to the south of us the other day.
Nothing new, I've had my bird feeders torn down twice by bears and I finally gave up.

They are nuisance animals in the city.

These two young men were right outside my window this morning. Half the picture is a reflection on the inside of the window.

So who is this stalking her? He was a solo coyote and didn’t have a chance of catching the deer so he watched until the deer ran away.

We just returned from the cottage after about a two week stay. I spent a lot of time replacing some very large, (about 5' x 8') screen panels on our porch. A bear had torn them up and got in. We also have a large deck box that I keep padlocked. The bear tore the lid open. Probably thought there might be food in there. We are very bear aware and don't keep anything outside to attract them, so this was very unusual behavior. Bears are a pretty common sight up there, but they have never been a problem. This one didn't even flinch or look at me when I attempted to scare it away.
We are going back up in a couple weeks and I'm hoping it has moved on and there isn't any more damage.

Bear hunting season starts earlier this year beginning Oct. 3rd. That should help.

Wow……destructive little critter for sure. Hope he leaves the area, either on his own or in the back of a pickup heading to the butcher.
