Are any of the forum members aware of a good on-line video which shows how to improve Savage rimfire rifle magazines?
As many, if not all, of the forum members are aware, Savage rimfire rifle magazines have less than a stellar reputation. I have found videos on-line which address methods (fixes?) to improve Savage magazines and the method I think is most likely to succeed is to compress the guides on the back of the magazine but to date, I have not found a video which shows the actual process. That is, none show the tools used or how the guides are to be compressed. Compressed from side to side or compressed from the rear forward? Slip joint pliers/vice grip pliers/bench vice?
Savage rifles have a reputation for accuracy but the poor quality of their rimfire magazines lets the firearms down. I have tired to find aftermarket Savage rimfire rifle magazines, Csspec in particular, but they make only magazines for the MK II series of rifles and those, only in .22 LR. My sole Savage is a Model 93 chambered in .22 WMR. It is accurate and the wood stock (probably birch, I guess) fits me like a glove and I want it to work so I hope I can remedy the magazine myself. Buying more magazines in hope I get one more reliable is like chasing a moving goalpost.
If Savage can't or won't make reliable rimfire rifle magazines, maybe Savage should consider introducing tubular magazines for rimfire rifles.
If any forum members can help, thanks in advance.
Site seems to be working OK.

Re: Savage Rimfire Rifle Magazines
A lot of old rimfire rifles that came in tube and magazine fed have a big difference in value with the tube fed being worth a lot more. The main reason is no one makes magazines for them anymore.

Sir Henry -
I edited my initial post to accurately reflect that the rifle is a Savage Model 93, not a Model 30 which I incorrectly entered. It's not an old, discontinued rifle but rather a rifle that is currently in production.
If it was not so accurate, it would move on down the road but the sloppy magazine fit is bothersome.
I bought two Savage OEM magazines from GunMag Warehouse, another 5 round magazine and a 10 round magazine, and they are marginally better. I guess it depends on what day they were made determines the quality of the magazine.
Now that I have a couple of replacement magazines, I am more likely to go Bubba on the magazine which was delivered with the rifle.
