A bit on the chilly side with 48 this morning. It won’t last long as we expect to warm up into the mid 70’s later. Sunny skies with clouds coming in later. Hitting the golf course today starting at 10:30. Should be the perfect golf day!!! :D

83 with a RealFeel of 98 @ 9AM on Friday, July 3rd .... forecasted high 100 with a RealFeel of 110 followed by an overnight low of 71 .... "Blazing sunshine and very hot; stay hydrated with temperatures remaining dangerously high" .... no chance of rain until Monday at the earliest .... pretty much another stay at home, inside type of day

51 earlier when I got up and a beautiful sunny pleasant morning right now. 80 later but getting windy. Here at my place the winds today and tomorrow (rut-ro) will peak around 25mph but near Dave77’s place in central Washington he could see winds gusting to 35+. Not good for firework weekend. :(

Speaking of fireworks, they are banned in all of Spokane county except for any local town who chooses to allow them within the city limits. Deer Park where I live close to is one of those towns that allow fireworks. My wife’s cousin has a home on the Deer Park golf course where the locals put on one hell of a fireworks show. With the green grass of the course it’s probably one of the safer places to shoot fireworks off. We’re going over tomorrow for a bbq and the show. First time we have left the dogs home alone on the 4th. They usually do okay with the noise so hope for the best for them. We’ll turn on a couple of interior cameras and keep an eye on them.

They just issued a Red Flag Warning for fires in our area and they've put out several portable signs that say all fireworks are banned with a $400 fine. Google says WA state firemen can issue tickets for fireworks violations so maybe they'll be out along with leo's handing out tickets.

It would really help if they could ban all firework sales on Indian reservations but that would likely take a federal action.

Interestingly both the Spokane Tribe and the Colville Tribe did exactly that this year on their own. A real generous action for the area. Not only did they outlaw the lighting of fireworks but also the sale of them. A small town nearby, Medical Lake, just today banned the use of fireworks this year. Medical Lake like my town Deer Park have always allowed fireworks. Deer Park is still letting it happen.

Many years ago we were beach camping on Lake Roosevelt across from the Spokane Tribe land. We watched a bunch of fools lighting fireworks and sure enough they started a big wildfire. I burned for several days consuming thousands of acres.

This is a picture of me and our first Golden Retriever named Hatch watching the fire start.

I wonder if they realize if they are identified and proven to have started the fire they can be held responsible for the damages and also the cost of fighting the fire, can easily run into the millions. There was a young guy here that is going to be paying off his debt for the rest of his life.

Happy 250th birthday America and to all Americans!!!!
Happy Independence Day to all and to all who have served to make and keep us Independent!!!!

55 and mostly overcast this morning but it’s supposed to clear off and be a nice sunny mid 80’s day. Continued nice weather hitting the 90’s early next week and then cooling off to the 80’s.

After finishing up spraying the weeds in my gravel driveway and mowing the lawn I’m planing on enjoying the 4th of July. Hope you all do the same (the enjoying not the yard work  )

Thursday 7/2 there was a commercial fireworks display somewhere close, couldn't see it but sure could hear it until 11. Think it was the Red Bud motorcycle races. Friday a storm blew through at 4pm. Temp dropped 20º and dropped a lot of trees with power lines and 1 inch of rain. Power went out at 4:10pm affecting 26K homes. Lots of personal fireworks until another storm at 10:30 pm until 4AM. Got 2 inches of rain. Got power back on 7/4 at 6:15pm. Supposed to have thunderstorms around 7PM then 9 until early am. Probably not going to have the City fireworks tonight. Got the generator for the freezer and refrigerator put up and now that the well works (and AC) going to shower and kick back for a couple. Have a good 4th.
